I wouldn't normally advertise mainstream chains but I have to mention our recent educational outing to Pizza Express in Sutton High Street. For those of you who are unaware, Pizza Express as a chain offers these outings to groups of children. They take place before the branch opens in the morning and give groups of up to 25 children the chance to make their own pizzas and cook them, Italian-style.
I was most impressed. The whole experience is free of charge and yet the staff treated us as though we were the highest-spending of valued customers and were very good with all 25 of the kids who ranged from toddlers up to 11 years. The parents got coffee and the children orange, blackcurrant or hot chocolate while the pizzas cooked, and then we were each sent off with our own pizza in a box. The kids enjoyed themselves, and we got a free lunch! What could be better?
