Easter

We had our Easter session slightly early this week on Thursday 15th March, and we had Father Stuart (from a member's church) come to tell us the Easter story. He was an excellent speaker and story-teller and had the children hanging on his every word. There were some interesting questions too. Some of the children knew the Easter story already, some didn't; some of our families are church-goers and Christians and some are not. We have quite a mixture of faiths and none at the group, but Father Stuart told the story simply, not in a proselytising way which made it easy for the children to think about the people in the story and how they might have felt.

We also had a great Easter egg hunt which included finding and copying the designs on large drawn Easter eggs, then swapping their own completed drawn page for a small bag of chocolate eggs at the end. It really engaged most of the children, of all ages.

An enjoyable, and relaxing session, which has also produced some colourful egg drawings to add to the Rainbow Light Project.
